  • Where is the ice schedule?

    You can view the weekly ice schedule and purchase tickets HERE

    Our ice schedule is released on a weekly basis, Sundays at 5pm for the following week and is subject to change each week

  • How much does it cost to skate?

    You can find our current pricing on our rates page.

  • How far in advance can I purchase tickets?

    Ticket sales begin on Sundays at 5pm when the ice schedule is posted for the following week.

    Tickets are available for purchase online or in-person at the admissions both located at 207 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland ME 04102.

  • How do I purchase tickets online?

    1. Visit the Ice Schedule & Ticket page. 

    Select "Tickets & Reservations" to access the online portal. Then, choose "Purchase Public Skate Tickets Here." 

    2. Select the Public Skate - Standard Tickets Public Session.  Locate and click "register" under "Public Skate - Standard Tickets Public Session (Ticket Activity)." 

    Do NOT select the Online Passholder option. 

    3. Choose your session. Select the date and time that works best for your schedule. 

     4. Select the number of tickets. Enter the total number of tickets needed for the session and click “add tickets.”  IMPORTANT! Only one name is required, even for multiple tickets. Do not add more than one name. 

     5. Review your order and follow the prompts to add it to your cart. 

    6. Enter your payment details. 

    7. Your receipt serves as your ticket, though a roster is maintained at the admission window. 

  • Who do I contact about online ticketing troubleshooting?

  • I bought tickets online. Now what?

    All skaters and patrons must check in at the admissions booth at Thompson’s Point Rink, 207 Thompson’s Point Road, Portland ME 04102 in order to be admitted onto the ice.

  • I can no longer attend a Public Skate. Can I get a refund?

    Skating tickets are non-refundable.

  • Can I purchase skate rentals in advance?

    No, at this time skate rentals are only available at the admission booth for $6/pair. We offer both hockey & figure skates ranging from a toddler 6 to an adult 13.

    Skate rentals are exclusively for use at Thompson's Point Rink and must remain on the property.

  • Do I have to wear skates?

    YES! Every person on the ice, regardless of age, is required to wear skates.

    Due to this, we have skate rentals available ranging from toddler 6 to adult size 13.

  • Do you offer concessions?

    We do! Basecamp’s hours of operation & menu offerings can be found HERE.

  • Do you have skate assisters available?

    Yes! We have 20 skate assist devices available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that personal skate assist devices are not permitted due to insurance regulations.

  • What happens if it's inclement weather?

    If a skating session is cancelled by The Thompson’s Point Rink due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, skating tickets are automatically refunded for the affected sessions.

    Ticket holders will be notified via email should a session be cancelled along with cancellation notices posted to the The Thompson’s Point Rink Instagram and The Thompson’s Point Rink Facebook Page.

    If there is no post or email, then the skating session is on as scheduled.

  • Is there parking available?

    Thompson’s Point is a sprawling 30-acre campus and includes a number of parking areas close by to The Rink. Please note that Thompson’s Point is a pay-to-park campus 24/7, weekends & holidays at a rate of $2 per hour. Payment can be completed using the Passport Parking App, zone 1213, or at any one of the 14 pay-and-display kiosks situated around campus.

  • Do you offer gift cards?

    Gift cards are not available at this time, however we do offer a book of 10 public skating passes for $100. These are available for purchase in person or through the online ticket portal.

  • Do you offer pond hockey?

    YES! Participants must be 18 years or older to play. A signed liability waiver is mandatory, and helmets are required for all pond hockey sessions.

    Pond hockey is available during designated times on the weekly schedule.

    Each session is limited to 20 players, organized in a 5-on-5 format.

  • When are private rink rentals available?

    Private rink rentals are available in two-hour periods on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays throughout the season (December through February weather depending). Bookings are subject to availability and private rentals are popular and sell out.

  • How much does a private rental cost?

    Two hour private rink rentals are $600 for weekdays & Sundays. Saturdays are $800. Rates include up to 200 people maximum and do not include ice skate rentals, skate sharpening services or bar services.

  • Do private rentals include skates?

    No. Since many of our guests have their own skates, skate rentals are not included in a private rental. Skate rentals are available at $6 per pair.

  • How do I book the rink for a private event?

  • Does the Rink offer catering for private rentals?

    Thompson’s Point Rink Base Camp will exclusively handle all food and beverage service. No outside food or beverages permitted at this time.

    Thompson’s Point Rink Base Camp can accommodate food and beverage service. We offer options such as cash events, consumption tabs, and drink tickets. For food service we offer a limited concessions food service menu. We require a staffing fee if food or beverage is requested.
